MD, FCPS, FICOG Director

Dr. Palshetkar has been a pioneer in her field of IVF, having been the first to establish laser hatching in India in 1998 and the first in the country to deliver laser-hatching twins. A forerunner to successfully deliver a baby with
three mothers, and achieving pregnancy, she has pushed existing boundaries and opened up a whole new world of possibilities for an aspiring mother in India. She has established new technologies in India, like the spindle view technology to prevent damage to the genes during the testtube baby procedure, and IMSI – which improves results in male infertility. Another in her line of successful initiations is the first Indian egg and ovarian tissue bank that she founded. Dr. Palshetkar also has the credit of installation of Primovision – digital microscope 1st time in India to improve pregnancy rates in 2011, and Digital Microscope Incubator (Embryoscope), first time in Asia at Lilavati Hospital Bloom IVF Centre Mumbai. Recently she & her team achieved pregnancy in 2016 from eggs stored in 2007 for lifestyle
purpose. Having achieved all this and more in a mere span of two decades, her dream is nowhere close to completion. She has a vision that includes empowerment of women in a genderbiased society and creating a plan that will enable doctors to continue charitable work for more and more people. Dr. Palshetkar believes, “Although all doctors are eager to help patients that are in need, we must come together via MOGS, ISAR, FOGSI and AMOGS to spread awareness, and show unity and willingness to do good for our society.” Her tenure as Hon. Secretary General of ISAR has helped her to start achieving her vision.
Dr. Palshetkar says, “IVF is something that is very close to my heart and I am very passionate about it, so this association with ISAR holds a very important place in my life.” When she is not busy chasing her dreams, Dr. Palshetkar, a self-proclaimed movie-buff, loves unwinding and spending some quality time with her family. She says my husband Pradip Palshetkar is the “wind beneath my wings.”
