FET Treatment

FET (Frozen Embryo Transfer) Treatment

At Bloom IVF Centre, Mohali, we are committed to providing advanced fertility treatments that maximize the chances of successful pregnancies. One such innovative treatment is Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET). FET allows couples to use previously frozen embryos for a new attempt at achieving pregnancy, offering flexibility and increased chances of success.

The Process

Preparation and Monitoring

The FET cycle begins with the preparation of the woman’s uterus. This may involve hormone treatments to ensure the endometrial lining is optimal for embryo implantation. Regular monitoring through ultrasound and blood tests helps determine the best timing for the transfer.

Thawing of Embryos

On the day of the scheduled transfer, the frozen embryos are carefully thawed in the laboratory. Our embryologists ensure that the embryos are viable and ready for transfer.

Embryo Transfer

The thawed embryos are placed into a thin catheter and transferred into the woman’s uterus under ultrasound guidance. This procedure is simple, minimally invasive, and typically does not require anesthesia.

Post-Transfer Care

After the transfer, the woman may be advised to rest and avoid strenuous activities. Medications to support the uterine lining may also be prescribed.

Pregnancy Test

Approximately two weeks after the embryo transfer, a pregnancy test is conducted to determine if the procedure was successful.

Advantages of FET

Reduced Stress and Cost: FET cycles are generally less stressful and less expensive compared to a full IVF cycle, as there is no need for ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval.

Higher Success Rates: Advances in freezing techniques, such as vitrification, have significantly improved the survival rates of thawed embryos, leading to higher pregnancy success rates.

Flexible Timing: FET allows couples to plan the timing of the embryo transfer that best suits their personal and medical circumstances.

Multiple Attempts: Couples with multiple frozen embryos have the opportunity to attempt several transfers without undergoing additional IVF cycles.
